Watching this two years later…”I don’t need anymore pants patterns now” lol….Girl, we have all bought lots of pants patterns since then! I love that I can come here and find help when I need it. Thank you again.

Karina, I am learning so much from you! Thank you for all of your patient tutorials! I am starting to work with the Duet pant, and would also like to create a block that I can hack over and over. Do you mind if I ask why you do not include seam/hem allowances on your block? Also, when cutting the hem, would I need to "true" it like I have seen you do before, like it flares out a little at the bottom?

I like shorts to rest on my natural waist. Is this possible with this pattern Karina?

Both the pairs of shorts look so comfortable. The ribtrim waistband is really a cool idea!

Amazing shorts! I too never tuck anything in so this technique would work for pants for me. I have the Duet patter (your fault!) but have not yet made them. Thank you for this great video!

Another terrific hack from you Karina! I am learning so much from you, in fact I have taken a leaf from your book and have found my 'go to' bodice that fits me like a glove and am going to be tracing it on to card to use as a bodice block! Now, to find a skirt and trousers too! As always, TFS

Thanks so much for this tutorial. I need these type of basic shorts and you make it very easy to understand how you redesigned the pants into pull-on shorts. I look forward to duplicating this for myself in Spring (in the U.S.).

Your shorts turned out beautifully. I love both pairs, and I reckon there will be many more as they're a great wardrobe staple, for where you live! Definitely not for me, especially at the minute as it's very windy and 2 degrees Celsius here in Northern Ireland. If we had a summer like we had this year, I think it was the 2nd hottest on record? then they would be perfect. A really terrific job Karina

Enjoy watching craftsmanship of basic garments. Frills and fancy are fine, but if the underlying foundation that supports them is off, then they don't live up to their potential either. As you mentioned basic colors and shapes give so much freedom. Especially in mix and match, along with good economics. With "basics" in place at modest pricing, costs much less to splurge on expensive yardage for a top, for example. (Hope that makes sense.)
Thank you for sharing what works for you. As it will also help many others do adaptations to meet their own needs.

So cool! I really want to try that waistband. And thanks to your hacking inspiration, I just finished a pair of trousers from the Lander pattern that have an elastic waistband, no zipper, and tapered legs. I love the fit on the pattern, and you gave me the courage to try! Thank you!
