Not sure how this came into my feed- But Yoga has absolutely nothing to do with Race or color. Ours is a ancient practice a lifestyle which unfortunately is commercialized/politicised by westerners (which they do with everything) in the west. Just do your practice and Bhakti end of story. If you want to learn Yoga, you have to live yoga, yoga is not just a series of contortions, it's a lifestyle. To truly understand it you must live in india, speak the language, breath the air, feel the culture. Having said that, to my African American friends practicing yoga, I'm very happy to see this! I hope you will nurture this art of my people in it's original way unlike the way my european Americans friends have done so. To the lady who said 13.01 who said she feels "my body does not belong" who told you that? I'm a hindu brahmin of indian origin- my ancestors created yoga- so I have an authority by blood on this subject I'm telling you you and your body BELONGS! I'm of hindu indian origin but live in NYC and am in law school here.

I am curious as to what the attendance numbers were for this discussion? I appreciate and am humbled by the energy and insights offered by the speakers. I am strongly in favor of a curriculum requirement, perhaps even beyond ethics, that places current Yoga expressions and teachings in the continuum of an inclusive history. In the creation of this sort of curriculum, in arriving at enough humility to learn and eventually teach it, I believe much of the self-examination lacking in how, what, why, and to whom we offer what we do will have fertile soil for lasting change and ongoing evolution. This curriculum should be approached regularly, examined, digested, amended, kept as a record of our own learning…I am a mixed teacher, with some measure of my own hyper-awareness of the whiteness of most yoga space (all in fact that I have had the chance to be a part of) but there are so many traumatic currents that I float upon…and even after many years of activist work, social justice education, and direct service…I am learning everyday…it never stops. This learning is also a Practice with a capital P. This is a bubbling, churning, digestive practice and it is necessary. If we make it a standard of teaching that one walks towards this knowledge and chooses to sit with it, that is a powerful testament of Yoga. As one of the speakers (who introduced the beautiful singer) said…we Yolk to the Chariot of Battle…this should be a field unto which we walk. Open-hearted and peering inward towards, examining how our actions, historical and contemporary, work for or against freedom for our fellows, both physical freedom and that of which we do not touch, but which touches us.

Q.1 Can you put light on what information/form about yoga was there in Sritattvanidhi?

Q.2 The book Kuronta is from Kapali kuronta or by Vamana rishi?

And as I read from online source that today's ashtanga vinyasa yoga is from Kuronta book, which is rigorous hatha yoga. Is it true?
