    This is a great video. If you could do one that would target 60+ , emphasizing balance and strengthening for osteopenia/osteoporosis people. Maybe 10 – 15 minute program would be enough for most seniors. Our bone Dr. suggested we search YouTube and we found you as the best example. Our Dr. would start sharing the URL to his clients if one like this was available. Thank you again.

    I just got my first yoga blocks…well, cork yoga bricks (trying to be eco-friendly!). And they are way too hard and dense for restorative yoga, so I've just been using them to help with some warrior-focused flows and secretly wishing I knew how else to use them so they don't go to waste. That's when I found your yoga block workout! Thank you for making and sharing this! It's so unique. And KILLER! My whole body's on fire!!!

    I was recently sick in bed for a week and searched for a restorative yoga video and this popped up! I'm so grateful it did.     I’ve just done this routine! A lovely relaxing practice, really enjoyed it thank you I also really like the inclusion of music in your videos – personally I like having music in the background when I do yoga, and you always pick stuff that isn’t too intrusive but is nice and calm (and at the right volume!)

Join us for this great GLUTES AND CORE WORKOUT with a yoga block (20 minute) taught by Human 2.0 strength and mobility coach Emma Bissonnette. This exercise routine is designed to activate those stubborn core and glute muscles in a safe, effective, and functional way.

Emma will lead you through two circuits with three exercises each – one for the glutes, one for the posterior chain, and one for the core muscles. Pay careful attention to the proper technique cues that she gives to prevent injury and to get as much value from this core and glutes workout circuit as possible. FYI, these exercises are great because they are exercises you can do anywhere (exercises you can do at home) and they don’t require any gym equipment whatsoever. It’s all about functional fitness and doing exercises that will help you move better day to day!

The first part is more of a working warm up, but don’t worry, the second part of this glutes and core exercise routine will definitely be more challenging.

Doing any kind of bodyweight glute or core workout is great because it’s so convenient, and it’s perfect for beginners as they start to learn how to control their bodies in space, but also good for seasoned fitness people to master what they are doing and add to other things. Doing a bodyweight strength workout is preferable for beginners because they must learn the physical literacy skills BEFORE adding equipment to their workouts. Practicing movement mastery is key to injury prevention.

Incorporate this 20 minute glutes and core workout into your fitness routine today. Remember to always work through a full range of motion, and use proper technique. Don’t rush. Always use mindfulness and intention when you are doing any type of exercise to get the full benefit.
