   I need some aztec print thongs now to wear with my denim micro mini skort and capri leggings, maybe will also get a pair of gauchos to wear with a chevron shirt and mini vest. WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO WATCH THIS VIDEO IT IS THE CONTENT I'VE BEEN NEEDING.

   The key thing is that leggings now are not as thin as they used to be, leggings in like 2005 were basically like long underwear or very thick stockings in terms of how thick they tended to be so if you were wearing them as your only “bottoms” not covered by a long shirt or dress or skirt you were at risk of accidentally having your underwear show through. Hence the leggings aren’t pants discourse. Leggings these days are basically the same as pants but I can understand some of the rules about them growing up.

    Im from Sweden and when i was in middle school this was how we decided yoga pants or leggings. If the material was sporty it was yoga pants, all others are leggings. It did not matter if they were flared or not, so i think the term flared leggings are very accurate because they are not in a sporty material.

    they are flared leggings. its like underwaer not fashion. sold by sport bras n' t shirts. it is leggings not pantings or its like india has pants like tight harem pants. it is for under something. everyone around here wear leggings as pants. lol school clothes jeans guess were made looser for school maybe n' that brand caters to rich people. n' they have tighter jeans not school clothes. at the store other night a female in leggings with big scrunched up looking briefs its weird looking.

    The first part really takes me back. I was in college when all this discourse was happening xD I remember buying my first leggings, and only wearing them under dresses or REALLY baggy sweatshirts. I still wear them under dresses sometimes, though, but definitely not like I used to! As a fat person, I found the style was actually pretty liberating. My legs were my biggest insecurity and this way I was able to wear short shorts and skirts without showing my legs, and everyone was doing it so I didn't look weird. I kind of bought on to the "leggings aren't pants" mentality, but only when applied to myself, I never really cared a lot about what other people wore… Now I just don't care at all! I wear leggings as pants and short short and skirts without leggings… unless I feel like wearing leggings under them.

    In the Netherlands we have been seeing this style of flared pants/leggings being trendy for the past 4 years now. Definitely not a new trend and actually kind of starting to become outdated now. I guess emma chamberlain might have made it bigger over there in the USA but it just buggs me how youtube commentary often excludes anything non North America. Like, other people and places can be sources of inspiration or even trendsetters too..?

    Late to the party, but a few days ago I visited the city center, and was wearing high-waisted skinny jeans. Quite a lot of people were out, and I soon noticed that skinny jeans are already completely out of trend. Can't believe it, since they were going so strong for the last ten years. I felt pretty self-conscious (first world problems am I right), but at least my hubby loved my look since those jeans highlight curves lol
