    Hi Leslie! I got into yoga after being a gymnast and dancer and also having broken my hip (in an accident). I learn a lot about breath and asanas from your videos and book. Chaturanga is important to my Ashtanga practice and this is good advice. Thanks for posting these videos; you and other online yogis have probably saved me with breath awareness and anatomy tips. If you post any more insight into long term hip and joint protection ( I feel wear and tear from sports in the past and have periodic knee pain also) we'd love it. My aunt is also a former gymnast who has scoliosis and a stress fracture. I don't really know what would be safe for her. Yoga has helped with seizures and lightheadedness as well.

    That's a very bulshitty long-winded way to tell someone to keep their humerus externally rotated (by first rotating the entire arm and shoulder externally and then rotating just the forearm/wrist back inwards).

    Why do you instruct to inhale during extension? Do you not find that extension performed on an exhale prevent the lumbar from over extending and the thoracic spine to have greater potential for mobility?

    as we externally spiral the arms, do the blade reamin stacked on the back? inhale remains in the chest only and not althe way down to the belly? great video and clear instructions. another probelm is how to help folks avoid buffing the movement and keep the constant integrated awareness.
